I clicked a scam link. What now?

Move quickly, but do not panic. The goal is to stop more damage, protect accounts and save evidence.

1. Stop contact

  • Do not reply again
  • Do not send more money
  • Do not share more codes or documents

2. Protect money

  • Call your bank or card issuer
  • Freeze or replace the card if needed
  • Dispute unknown charges inside the official app

3. Protect accounts

  • Change passwords from a clean device
  • Enable 2FA
  • Sign out of all sessions
  • Revoke unknown connected apps

4. Save and report

  • Save screenshots, numbers, emails and domains
  • Report to the platform
  • Report serious cyber-enabled crime to IC3
  • Warn family if impersonation was involved

If there is immediate danger

If someone is threatening you or another person, contact local emergency services. For cyber-enabled crime reports in the US, use the official FBI IC3 website.
